We strive to make the transition into high school a positive and successful experience for our ninth grade students. Each 9th grader will be assigned to a team of teachers in the content areas of Language Arts, Health/Physical Education and Social Studies. In addition, all students will take the 9th grade seminar(Storm Fx). Collectively, teams of teachers, along with student leaders, will build relationships within this group of students, thus setting the tone and expectations for their years at Sauk Rapids-Rice High School.
These teams will help students develop additional skills in areas such as study skills, decision making, goal setting, problem solving, conflict resolution, and technology. Career awareness and extra curricular opportunities will also be explored. The teams will also monitor student progress and provide timely feedback to students and their parents. Developing heightened awareness, building these important skills and monitoring progress will increase the success for students at Sauk Rapids-Rice High School.
