Welcome to the Media Center
Students in grades kindergarten through fifth grade come to the media center once a week for regularly scheduled class times. Media/tech classes develop the skills needed to access, process and communicate information in an information-rich world. Some of the skills taught are literacy awareness, research, technology, multimedia presentations, and online safety and responsibility.
The media program conducts events and activities that encourage independent reading. A computerized book-tracking system is available. Activities that promote media literacy are held throughout the year.

Overdue and Lost Books
Lost or overdue books will not be taken out of your child’s name until they are either paid for or replaced with the same title from a local bookstore. We encourage your child to continue using the media center. We know they are trying as hard as they can to take good care of their loaned books so that many others can enjoy the books as well.
If a book should be lost, a lost book letter will be sent home with the title and the amount owed for the book’s replacement. If the book is found you may return it to the school office or send it to school with your child. Hard cover books have a replacement cost of $20 and paperbacks are $7. Checks should be made out to the school for the appropriate amount.
