Congratulations to Rice Elementary School, students, staff, and community for their work and commitment to become authorized as an International Baccalaureate Primary Years Programme (IB PYP) School.
The Primary Years Programme (PYP) is designed for students aged 3 to 12 and focuses on the development of the whole child as an inquirer, both in the classroom and in the world outside. In addition, the program emphasizes the development of the whole student – physically, intellectually, emotionally, socially, and ethically.
Rice Elementary staff and administration have worked diligently for 3 years through the application, review and consideration process and today, April 23, 2019, Rice Elementary became one of only 24 Minnesota elementary schools to earn the honor and authorization to become an IB PYP World School.
The International Baccalaureate (IB) Programme offers a high-quality continuum of international education to a worldwide community of schools. The International Baccalaureate organization works with schools, governments and international organizations to develop challenging programs of international education and rigorous assessment. These programs encourage students across the world to become active, compassionate and lifelong learners.
Rice Elementary students, staff, and administration have worked tirelessly to achieve the high standards required for IB authorization. They have worked diligently to reinforce the reputation and credibility of this program, which is recognized globally for its quality and values.
The International Baccalaureate Programme aims to develop inquiring, knowledgeable and caring young people who help to create a better and more peaceful world through intercultural understanding and respect.
Congratulations Rice Elementary!
