Class of 2026 ~ Top 10 Seniors
Sarah Amberson, Mya Blackmore, Madison Bruzek, Torin Huff, Taylor Janorschke, Madison Miller, Carter Molitor, Aaron Mueller, Leah Roesch, and Elka Sowada
Sarah Amberson
Sarah Amberson is the daughter of Anson and Rachel Amberson. She is an active member of the school community, involved in both athletics and the arts. She participates in Girls Tennis and serves as a captain of the Nordic Ski team, and is a manager for the Boys Tennis Team. In addition to athletics, she is deeply involved in music, performing in the choir, chamber choir, and Youth Chorale of Central MN. She was also selected to be a Junior Kiwanian Student of the Month.
Beyond school activities, Sarah works as a stylist at Sorted Boutiques in Crossroads Mall. She is also a member of the National Guard and is preparing to leave for basic training this July. In her free time, she enjoys being outdoors, spending time with friends, and expressing herself through singing and music.
Sarah plans to go to basic training this summer and then AIT to train as a combat medic with the National Guard. She then plans to attend the College of Saint Benedict to major in Biology and explore a career path in dentistry.
Mya Blackmore
Mya Blackmore is the daughter of Jeff and Jennifer Blackmore. She has been involved in the choir program throughout high school, participating in Varsity Choir her freshman year, Chamber Choir all four years, and Concert Choir for the past three years. She has also taken on leadership roles as Alto Section Leader her junior year and Choir President her senior year.
In addition to her involvement in music, Mya has served as a Link Leader during her junior and senior years and is a member of the Minnesota Honor Society. Through MHS, she has contributed to the scholarship committee and participated in service projects such as organizing a book drive and reading to elementary students.
Outside of school, Mya is highly involved in her church community. She has served as a second-grade Sunday School teacher, a small group leader for youth groups, and as Youth President and a youth representative on the Church Council during her senior year. She has also volunteered at Vacation Bible School throughout high school and participated in Portable Vision Art Club. In her free time, she enjoys playing piano and participating in festivals, watching sports, reading, and painting.
Mya will be attending Augustana University to major in Journalism, pursuing a career in Sports Media.
Madison Bruzek
Madison is the daughter of Scott and Jennifer Bruzek. She is an active and involved member of the school and local community, demonstrating leadership and service across a variety of activities. She serves as Secretary of Student Council and Treasurer of Minnesota Honor Society, while also participating in Link Crew and DECA.
In addition to her school involvement, Madison is dedicated to giving back through coaching and volunteer work. She coaches U6 and U8 youth hockey and volunteers with Pockets of Hope and the Duelm Lions Club. She also works at Dick’s Sporting Goods.
Madison plans to attend the University of Wisconsin-Madison to major in Accounting.
Torin Huff
Torin is the son of Adam Huff and Kara Murphy. He is a curious and driven student with a strong passion for learning, particularly in math, science, reading, and politics. His academic interests reflect a love of critical thinking and exploration across a range of subjects.
Outside of school, Torin enjoys reading and expressing herself through music. He plays both guitar and bass and is a member of a band with friends from Sartell.
Torin plans to major in Physics at Carleton College.
Taylor Janorschke
Taylor is the daughter of John and Katie Janorschke. She is a member of Student Council, the Minnesota Honor Society, and Link Crew. Outside of school, she works at Menards and volunteers at the Tri-County Humane Society, where she was honored as Junior Volunteer of the Year.
In her free time, she enjoys baking, spending time outdoors, and shopping. She is also passionate about Spanish and recently had the opportunity to travel to Costa Rica, where she toured the country and stayed with a host family.
Taylor plans to attend St. Catherine's University with direct admission into their Sonography program.
Madison Miller
Madison is the daughter of Jesse and Kristin Miller. She actively participates in DECA, Link Crew, and Minnesota Honor Society. She is also a member and captain of the Girls’ Swim Team. Through swimming, Madison has earned numerous honors, including All-Conference and All-State recognition, MVP, a third-place finish at the state level, and setting a school record.
Outside of school, she teaches swimming lessons and enjoys spending time with family and friends. In her free time, she also enjoys hunting and fishing.
Madison plans to pursue a Pre-Med Biology major at Southwest Minnesota State University where she will continue her swimming career. Her goal is to become a surgeon.
Carter Molitor
Carter is the son of Mike and Shanon Molitor. He participates in DECA and Culinary. He serves as a team captain of the Culinary Management Team and led the team to a 1st place finish at the State ProStart Competition. Carter also holds a leadership role in DECA as the Director of Written Events, demonstrating strong commitment and initiative.
Outside of school, Carter works at Dairy Queen in Sauk Rapids. In his free time, he enjoys traveling, golfing, and cooking.
Carter plans to attend the University of Minnesota Twin Cities to major in Food Science.
Aaron Mueller
Aaron is the son of Cory and Tracy Mueller. He is a well-rounded student who enjoys a variety of interests both in and out of school. He has a passion for reading, watching television, and listening to and playing music.
Outside of school, Aaron works in the Culinary Department at Country Manor Nursing Home. He values spending time with his family, whether at home or traveling together.
Aaron will be attending St. Cloud State University to pursue Computer Engineering
Leah Roesch
Leah is the daughter of Jon and Julie Roesch. She is a dedicated student and athlete who has been involved in Girls Tennis throughout high school. She has played tennis since the age of five and competed on the varsity team all four years, serving as a team captain. She is also a member of the Minnesota Honor Society during her junior and senior years, where she has contributed to both school and community service initiatives.
Outside of school, Leah has worked at Hillside Kids’ Club for the past two years. She especially enjoys watching the kids grow throughout the year and building strong relationships with each of them. She has studied Spanish for four years and this Spring, had the opportunity to travel to Costa Rica with her Spanish class, an experience that allowed her to explore the language and culture firsthand. In her free time, she enjoys baking and cooking, a passion inspired by her grandmother.
Leah plans to attend the College of Saint Benedict to pursue a Nursing degree with a minor in Spanish. She would like to become a Pediatric Nurse Practitioner. Leah will also be playing on the Women’s Tennis Team at St. Ben’s.
Elka Sowada
Elka is the daughter of Keith and Mary Ellen Sowada. She participates in Cross Country, Track and Field, Girls Swim and Dive, Minnesota Honor Society, Student Council, and the Culinary Management Team. She served as a captain for Cross Country, Track and Field, and Culinary, and has held leadership roles as Secretary of Student Council and Vice President of Minnesota Honor Society.
Outside of school, Elka is actively involved in her church community, where she serves as Vice President of the youth council, a role she also previously held as President. She participates in youth group and is involved in a student-led Bible study. She also volunteers through organizations such as Big Brothers Big Sisters and Girl Scouts. In her free time, she enjoys running, having completed three half marathons, as well as baking and reading her Bible.
Elka plans to major in Mechanical Engineering at Bethel University where she will continue to run in Cross Country and Track.
