Welcome to the Sauk Rapids-Rice Middle School Media Center

Sauk Rapids-Rice Schools

Our Mission

Our mission is to create an environment that promotes learning for all students in grades 6–8 by providing equitable access to information. In addition, we seek to teach information literacy skills and encourage all students to be lifelong learners by providing a wide variety of texts in which all students can see themselves represented.

We want students to grow into strong, voracious, curious readers. Our mission is to support teachers in educating students about responsibly consuming information as well as responsibly creating information.

We seek to provide equitable opportunities for students to inquire, research, learn, communicate, create, critically think and collaborate with others.

Book Checkout Procedure

Checkouts occur every other week as LA classes come down to the media center. Students are also encouraged to visit the media center during the day if they have a need to renew or check out new books.

Students in 6–8 grade are allowed to check out three books at a time.

Overdue and Lost Books

Lost or overdue books result in a student not being able to check out new books until they have returned their overdue books. However, if a book is lost, the account will be billed in Skyward for the price of the missing book. If the book is found you may return it to the school office or send it to school with your child. Your account will be refunded if the book was paid for or we will take the bill off the account. If paying by check instead of through Skyward, they should be made out to the school for the appropriate amount.
