Bus Card Reminder

We are asking for your support in reminding students to consistently use their bus cards when riding the school bus.

The bus card system is an important safety tool that helps the district and our transportation partner, Voigt's Bus Service, quickly confirm when and where students get on and off the bus each day. Recently, we have seen an increase in students not scanning their cards.

When cards are not used, it can create delays in locating students if they are not where they are expected to be after school or at drop-off. When the system is used consistently, we have been able to locate students in a matter of seconds — including situations where a student accidentally boarded a bus they were not assigned to. Accurate scanning allows us to respond quickly and helps ensure students arrive safely at their intended destination.

Over the coming weeks, the school district and Voigt’s Bus Service will be coordinating efforts with drivers and school staff to reinforce consistent card use with students. Families can help by reminding students to:

• Bring their bus card each day
• Scan their card when getting on the bus
• Scan their card again when getting off the bus
