Let's get started
We are new to the district
We are so excited for you to join us here at Sauk Rapids-Rice Public Schools! Follow these steps to start on this new adventure.
Step 1: Create a Skyward Account
We process new student enrollments online using Skyward Family Access. You will need to request a login account using a valid email address or phone number.
- If you provide an email address, your login and password will be sent to this email address.
- If you provide only a phone number, you will setup your login information.
Step 2: Get the link in your email
Use the link in the email (or the login information you setup associated with your phone number) to log in and begin the process. The email will be sent from do.not.reply@isd47.org, be sure to add this email address to your valid email recipients to avoid it being affected by your spam filter.
Step 3: Submit enrollment documents
During the online registration process, you will be asked to upload the following documents. Any documents that are missing may delay enrollment.
- Proof of Residency: Examples include a recent utility bill (gas, water, electric, phone) or mortgage or rental agreement
- Immunization Record
- Birth Certificate
- Recommended Health Information Form (for students in kindergarten and grade 7): Complete and sign by a physician. This form or a printout form your physician's office are acceptable.
The following forms are needed only if they apply to your student(s)
- Early Childhood Screening if this did not take place in the Sauk Rapids-Rice School District
- IEP/Special Education (SPED) Records
- Educational Benefits Application (otherwise known as Free and Reduced Lunch)
- Families in Transition Form
- Transportation Request and Change Form.
Please Note
As a district we are working diligently to plan for a successful new school year and, to do this effectively, we need to work together. We recognize that there are times when it is more convenient for your student to attend a school different from the school in your attendance boundary. We would like to accommodate this when possible. We ask that all families who request a school outside of their attendance areas do so by April 30, 2024.
Find your attendance area
The district will work to accommodate as many requests as possible, but to facilitate planning and balance class sizes across the three elementary schools, requests after April 30 will be allowed only if there is space at the requested school. Please reach out to Tracey Fiereck by calling 320-258-1803 with any questions you may have.

Discover Our Community
We are comprised of multiple communities throughout Sauk Rapids and Rice in central Minnesota. Together, we support students in every challenge and accomplishment during their time at Sauk Rapids-Rice Public Schools and in their future.
To further provide unforgettable classroom experiences and opportunities for every one of our students, the Sauk Rapids-Rice Education Foundation helps our students flourish. Built upon the power of passionate students and inspired teachers, the foundation provides opportunities for our students by funding special projects that go beyond the district's operating budget.

PATH of the Storm
All of our schools in the Sauk Rapids-Rice district participate in the “PATH of the Storm” PBIS program. Positive Behavioral Interventions & Supports (PBIS) is a school-wide, data-drive system to promote positive behavior among our students. Learning productive behaviors is a critical part in our students' development, so we teach our behavioral expectations in the same manner as we would math or reading. Students are not expected to automatically know how to behave in certain situations or environments. We provide the support they need to learn those behaviors and carry them into their futures. The systems we have in place encourage positive behavior and reteach expected behaviors to struggling students.
Our “PATH” acronym includes the following behavioral expectations:
P= Prepared
A= Accepting
T= Trustworthy
H= Helpful
How can parents help?
Learning is not constricted to the walls of our schools, and we encourage parents to promote positive behavior at home. You can accomplish this by reviewing PATH expectations with your child to reinforce their importance. Show interest in your child's day by asking about it when they return home. Take time to celebrate their achievements and milestones!
Assisting your child in being prepared for school and getting a good night's rest will help set them up for days full of learning. Encourage your child to do their best both academically and behaviorally. Practicing positive phrases (please, thank you, I'm sorry) will help your student carry those phrases into school behavior.
Volunteer
Whether you have students just starting out in elementary school, ready to graduate or just have a willingness to make a difference in our schools, we encourage you to consider volunteering.
Your interest to helping our students succeed and working together to create a positive impact on their educational journey is an integral part of the educational setting. Parents/guardians and volunteers involved in the education of our students is an important part of our Strategic Plan here at Sauk Rapids-Rice Schools this year.
Visit our Volunteers page to see volunteer opportunities and programs throughout our schools.
Unity Day
Together against bullying — united for kindness, acceptance and inclusion.
Make it ORANGE and make it end! On Unity Days (once per month) we make an extra effort to spread the message of kindness, acceptance, and inclusion by wearing ORANGE. We want our schools to be an expressive place for all students. United we are strong!
Unity Day dates are listed on the district calendar.
Why Orange?
“ORANGE provides a powerful, visually compelling expression of solidarity,” said Paula Goldberg, Executive Director of PACER Center. “When hundreds of individuals in a school or organization wear orange, the vibrant statement becomes a conversation starter, sending the unified message to kids to know that they are not alone." The bright orange brings attention to bullying and prompts conversations to stop the behavior. Bullying is never acceptable behavior.
