Buildings & Grounds

The Sauk Rapids-Rice Buildings and Grounds committee is a standing committee of the Board of Education. Three Board members are joined by the Superintendent, the Business Manager and the Director of Buildings and Grounds. In addition, one building principal sits on the committee. Finally, architectural and/or construction consultants often serve as advisors to the group.

The primary charge of the Buildings and Grounds committee is to develop and administer a plan for the safe and orderly utilization of educational facilities in the district. Both short and long term maintenance issues are addressed. For example, the roof replacement schedule for school buildings is under the charge of the Buildings and Grounds committee. Energy utilization is a subject of regular discussions. This group also addresses issues of building capacity as it looks out into the future to assure that an adequate number of classrooms will be available for tomorrow's students.

Specific information concerning the district's Buildings and Grounds committee is available through the District Office.
