February Events
2 – Reading & Pizza Night sponsored by PTA – Families are invited to come and read from their Cricket in Times Square books in “Times Square.” Students can register for prizes. Pizza from Twin Pines will be available in the Cafeteria for $1 per slice. For space concerns we are asking families with the last names A-H to read from 6:00-6:30pm, Last names I-P from 6:30-7:00pm, and Last Names Q-Z from 7:00 to 7:30pm.

6 – One District, One Book Family Night @ SRRHS.

8-16 - Round One of MCA Math Testing –

Once again, we are approaching time for students to take part in state testing. Although most of the assessments have remained the same from last year, there is one big change from the state in regards to the math test that will be administrated this winter-spring. This year’s math test will once again be offered, online, to students in grades 3-8, but students will have up to three opportunities this year to prove proficiency. This means that the test will be offered to students up to three times this school year to pass. Once a student has achieved a proficient level on the test, he/she will not need to re-test.

9 - Rice PTA Meeting  |  6:30pm @ Media Center

13, 16 & 17 – Parent/Teacher Conferences  |   4-8pm

A bookfair will be held in the Media Center during conferences.  Feb. 16 is student shopping day during school.

21 – District Battle of the Books  |  7:00pm @ SRRHS, CAC

23 - NED lyceum  |  2:15pm @ gym.
23 - Airmaxx Night  |  6:30-7:30pm @ Airmaxx in Waite Park.

Admission is $3 plus gripper socks. Kids can bring their own socks/ slippers but they must have grippers on the bottom or they may purchase a pair at Airmaxx for $2. A limited amount of Pizza will be available at Airmaxx for purchase.

23 - NED lyceum 2:15pm in gym.

24 - One District, One Book Family Night @ SRRHS.

27 - DARE culmination  |  7:00pm @ SRRMS – CAC.

28 – Family Snow Kickball Night  | 6:30-7:30pm @ Rice Fields

We will divide into teams that night and have some fun slip sliding in the snow for about 45 minutes then we will go inside to warm up with Hot Apple Cider or Hot Chocolateand cookies in the Cafeteria.
