Kindergarten Information

The Sauk Rapids-Rice School District staff, administration, and School Board are proud to announce the continuation of all-day, every-day kindergarten, free of charge, for all students. Providing all-day, every day kindergarten and working with our families and parents to learn ways to improve are essential to accomplishing our district goals:

• Creating a culture of academic achievement
• Preparing all students for post secondary success
• Fostering an informed public

We have continued to meet with and learn from Sauk Rapids- Rice staff, families, and community members, all of whom have seen the benefits of providing all-day, every day kindergarten.The leadership team and School Board have heard stories and have seen data, which supports maintaining all-day, every day kindergarten for our students and families.

If you are a parent and/or guardian of a child who will attend kindergarten in September 2012, please plan to join us for:

Kindergarten Information Night  |  January 24, 2012, 6:30-7:30pm

Kindergarten Open House   |  February 9, 2012, 5:00-7:00pm

Visits will take place at the school your child(ren) will attend.

This will be your child’s chance to interact with our kindergarten teachers, see a classroom, and for parents to submit required registration materials. If you were unable to attend Kindergarten Information Night, please contact the school your child(ren) will attend for materials. Your child will not be enrolled until a completed registration form is received.

In addition to the forms you will receive in your packet, please bring the following items with you to the Kindergarten Open House on February 9th:

• Birth Certificate (a copy will be made and the original returned to you);
• Shot Record/Physical Form (if your child has had the shots necessary for kindergarten, if not, this is due in the office by August 10, 2012);
• Release of Information form (if your child was preschool screened in another school district); and Open Enrollment Form (if you are not a resident of Independent School District #47).
