Matt Kahl – Robotics
Parents – Michael and Marjorie Kahl
Matthew Kahl has time and time again gone above and beyond on our Storm Robotics Team. He has proven to be a leader, a mentor, and a friend to everyone on the team. Rather than specializing in just one role and sticking with that role, Matt has mastered many areas of our robotics team. Some examples of this are learning how to program, use CAD (Computer Aided Design), and engineering our robots to high levels of manufacturing standards. Matt takes great pride in his work and is always striving to find strategies to make the robotics team more successful every day. Matt epitomizes the slogan that our robotics team strives to accomplish which is “building successful students one robot at a time”.
Tori Gratke – Culinary
Parents – Kraig and Julie Gratke
Tori’s passion for learning abounds. She welcomes every opportunity to learn in the culinary field and takes advantage of the unique programs she is invited to participate in. Not only is she able to learn at a high level, but also apply that learning into action with a great sense of creativity! She is an incredible leader and shows this through her example of hard work, calmness under pressure, and desire to continue to learn and improve her craft.
Jacob Weber – FFA
Parents – Steven and Jill Weber
Jacob serves as our FFA vice president and has served on the officer team for the past three years. He participates in all activities and has this year worked to encourage younger members to try new competitions and FFA community service events. He is a PALS teacher for the kindergarten program and will receive his FFA State Degree in April. This is the highest FFA award in the state. He is one of two to receive this year and this is the first for SRR in 5-8 years.
Braden Burggraff – DECA
Parents – Don and Carrie Burggraff
Braden has been a part of our DECA program for the past 3 years. Braden has qualified for the International DECA Career Development Conference all three years he’s been in DECA. The last two years Braden has qualified for ICDC in both his Written Operations Research Event as well as his Team Role Play Event. Last year Braden and his partner took 3rd place at ICDC in his Written Operations Research Event. While Braden’s success has helped our DECA Chapter to succeed and grow, Braden’s real gift has been his work with our younger DECA members. Braden has volunteered his own time to help countless groups and students with their DECA projects and role plays. Braden has also been an exceptional leader in our school store and concession stand. Braden truly exemplifies what it means to be a Storm DECA Leader.
