What is the National School Lunch Program?
It is a program that is sponsored by the Government and the USDA, which guides us in providing a nutritious, well-rounded meal for the students. We follow the Food Pyramid and use what is called Offer Vs. Serve. That is to say, we offer one or more items from each of the Five Food Groups and a student must take at least three of them to meet the requirements.

Why do we sell Ala Carte foods at the High School and Middle School?
This is to give students choices. As students grow into their teen years they are learning to become adults and can usually make good choices. It is also a way for the district to generate revenue to achieve a break-even program. Any parent that doesn’t want their child to buy ala carte items can simply request, through the Food Service Office, a form to sign and we block access to the family accounts for these types of purchases.
