Join us for some family fun!! We have some fun (and free) opportunities to come together as a community and engage in the shared reading of The Cricket in Times Square. We encourage your family to come out and spend some time “chirping” about the book with us! Past events: Fri. Feb. 24th- Culmination Night @ SRR High School from 6:00-8:00 Come to the High School to do some fun activities related to The Cricket in Times Square and celebrate the end of the book! There will be pizza and pop for sale so come for dinner. We will be showing the animated movie of The Cricket in Times Square in the PAC from 6:30-7:00 and 7:30-8:00. From 7:00-7:30 there will be a Kung Fu performance for everyone to enjoy as well. There will also be some end of the book projects to complete as well as an opportunity to vote for next years book!! Mon. Jan. 30th- Cricket Night @ SRR High School from 6:00-7:00 Families will be learning more about crickets. There will be live crickets to observe and some cricket art projects to complete. This is also a wonderful way to talk with other families about the book!! Some members of the SRR Storm Football team will be there to help out as well! Mon. Feb. 6th - Chinese New Year @SRR High School from 6:00-7:00 Families will be learning more about Chinese New Year and the Year of the Dragon. Families will need to bring an empty egg carton for each person interested in making an egg carton Dragon. All other supplies will be provided. Families will also have the opportunity to make a chinese lantern to bring home. This is another great opportunity to talk with other families about the book!! Some members of the SRR Track and Field team will join us for the night to help out too!
