Jazz I

Students who have auditioned and been invited into Jazz I must be a part of Trimester 1 Jazz ensemble I class. Following Trimester 1, rehearsals will take place outside of the school day and will follow a schedule of Tuesday and/or Thursday mornings.

The schedule for the year will be as follows:

Trimester 2
May 1, CONCERT 5.
MUSIC TURN IN DATE: MAY 8 DURING NORMAL REHEARSAL TIME.

Details:
Membership is very important. Everyone has a role in this ensemble and missing personnel takes away from the efforts of those who are present. If you find yourself in a situation that is unavoidable, please call Mr. Campbell immediately.

Part assignment will be given as Mr. Campbell sees best for the ensemble. All students will get a chance to experience lead parts and solo parts throughout the year.

Folders must be kept in the folder cabinet during the year. Management of music is very important due to the rising cost of music.

Dress: This will be discussed during class the first week of school.

Instrument use: Rental fees will apply to any student who needs a school owned instrument for Jazz Band. If their jazz instrument is different from their concert instrument, please have a discussion with Mr. Campbell.
