Instruments

Periodically, instruments that are for sale will be listed here.  Listed instruments come from community members, past students, etc.  It is always in the best interest of you the consumer to take any instrument you are looking at purchasing to a qualified repair store for evaluation and purchase advice.  Consider the following factors:

• Students in the 9th grade and beyond should NOT replace their beginner instrument with another “beginner” quality instrument.

• The three primary qualities of instrument are beginner, intermediate and advanced.

• The price difference between most intermediate and most advanced instruments is considered minimal and if there is ever any question on which quality to buy, always go with the advanced.

• Several discount stores offer instruments. Before purchasing any instrument, you should consult with a qualified repair person and/or a band director you trust for their expert opinion.

• The best rule of thumb for purchasing an instrument is: you get what you pay for—if it appears too good to be true, it probably is a poor quality instrument.
