Chamber SingersOngoing, all year long for Grades 9-12
The Chamber Singers is a select, auditioned ensemble of singers that perform a wide variety of choral literature. In the fall the ensemble prepares a Halloween program, goes caroling in December and works on their contest literature of early and Renaissance music. In the spring they sing more vocal jazz and pop standards. They rehearse Monday and Tuesday mornings from 7:15-8:15am and perform often. Students MUST be enrolled in choir to be able to participate. High School DramaOngoing, all year long for grades 9-12
Drama is an activity for anyone in grades 9 – 12 who enjoys working on any aspect of a theatrical production. Student involvement choices include: set crew; light crew, make-up, publicity, and student directing as well as acting. Marching BandApril – Late June for grades 8-12
Marching STORM is widely recognized as one of the best summer marching bands in the State of Minnesota. Practices begin in April and the season concludes in late June. Students currently in grade 8 through grade 12 can join. Recently, we have opened enrollment to neighboring schools who don’t have a summer marching opportunity. Marimba ChoirOngoing, all year long for Grades 9-12
Marimba Choir is an amazing ensemble offered to students who want to learn more about playing marimba and performing fun and unique music! Formed in 2009-2010, this ensemble supports 6-10 musicians who show an interest in playing mallet instruments. They perform about 3 times during the year including the Region 8AA solo/ensemble concert, concerts in the PAC, seasonal winter music for SRRHS students in the Commons and more! Pep/Sports BandOngoing, all year long
The most important music ensemble available for students to dedicate their time and talents! Of all the performances music students commit themselves to, the Sports Band is the one which supports and helps the positive climate of our school, the spirit of our fellow students and generates a positive community relation. In the fall, the Sports Band performs at home football games and home volleyball games. During the winter, the Sports Band performs at home Boys and Girls Basketball games. SpeechJanuary – April
Speech is an activity for students who “like to talk.” Students can compete in any 1 of 13 categories ranging from interpreting literature to discussion, public speaking, storytelling, and more. Benefits range from confidence to self-esteem, to getting involved in an activity that lasts a lifetime. It’s fun, too, providing many opportunities to meet young people from other schools. Wind EnsembleOngoing, all year long
The SRRHS Wind Ensemble is an audition-based ensemble which only admits one person per part into the group. The concept is based on advanced ensembles at the college level or professional level. It is intended to strengthen individual ensemble member contributions to the ensemble. The SRRHS Wind Ensemble performs about 2 times each year. Advisor/Coach: Scott Campbell |

Winter ColorguardEarly November – Early April for grades 8-12
Winter Colorguard is an amazing activity that combines body movement, flags and rifles. The performances are used to compete in the WGI circuit within Minnesota. There are usually 6-10 regional performances given with a couple local performances offered. The season for the SR-R (and Sartell) Winter Guard begins in early November and concludes in early April. Winter DrumlineMid October – Late March for grades 8-12
Winter Drumine is one of the most respected winter drumlines in Minnesota. The activity utilizes drums, mallet instruments and auxiliary equipment to perform a show that combines a variety of tonal sounds, body movement and creative props. There are usually 6-10 regional performance given with a couple local performances offered. The season for the SR-R (and Sartell) Winter Drumline begins mid-October and concludes in late March.
